Since we fully started potty training Aubrey at the beginning of September, She had done such a great job. She had a few accidents very early on but since then she’s been SO good about telling us when she has to go. Another huge improvement has been her overnight potty training.
When going into the potty training, we decided that we would keep Aubrey in diapers/pull-ups overnight because she was consistently wet each morning prior to potty training. For the next month and a half, we had kept Aubrey in diapers/pull-ups just in case. We were worried if she went to bed in undies that she would have accidents and that could cause a lot of middle of the night drama. I guess we were a little selfish in the decision of keeping her in diapers at night because we didn’t want to be wide awake in the middle of the night changing clothes and bedding. I guess it didn’t matter if we were selfish or not, Aubrey has been dry every single morning since we started potty training.
For the last week, Aubrey has been going to bed wearing undies. We were a little nervous but based on her perfect record for the last month and a half, We figured she’d do well. And she did. She has not had one overnight accident and we are so proud of her. She has unfortunately yelled out in the middle of the night that she has to go potty, but we take her, she goes and then right back to bed. Oh so proud.
Overall, this potty training thing has by far exceeded my expectations. I am amazed how well she did and how fast this process has taken. Great job, Aubrey!
